It’s important to note that wealth does not necessarily mean money - see point 2 in the definition above. Being wealthy does not mean being rich. It means having enough to enable you to feel comfortable in your current situation.
On your path to self improvement, you need to learn how to look after your money, and how to make more of it. You ARE in control of the amount of money you have - or will have.
You may argue that you do not set your salary. OF COURSE YOU DO. If you feel you are worth more, then ask for more. If you do not get it - find another employer. By improving your skills you can increase your value to an employer, and ultimately gain promotion, a pay rise, or a better job.
